What the OMTech Solis Duo Fiber Dual can make
The OMTech Solis Duo Fiber Dual is a fiber laser: built for marking and engraving metals (stainless steel, aluminium, brass, gold, silver) and some plastics, quickly and permanently. It is not a cutter for wood or acrylic.
It has a rated laser power of 20 W – 50 W depending on the model, a work area of 250 × 900 mm (9.8 × 35.4 in) and a top engraving speed of 10,000 mm/s.
It works with a camera for positioning designs on the material, autofocus, support for a rotary attachment to engrave tumblers and other round objects and LightBurn software.
In the United States the OMTech Solis Duo Fiber Dual sells for $2,800, close to the median of $2,600 across 26 fiber laser engravers with a US price.
OMTech Solis Duo Fiber Dual safety and compliance
The OMTech Solis Duo Fiber Dual has a fully enclosed design.
Every laser engraver makes smoke and fumes: run it with an exhaust to the outdoors or a fume purifier. Never cut PVC or vinyl, which release corrosive chlorine gas.
The brand states FDA compliance: laser products sold in the United States must meet the FDA's laser performance standard (21 CFR 1040.10) and be reported to the FDA, which issues an accession number.
Other compliance the brand states: CE (the manufacturer's declaration of conformity with EU product rules).
