What the AlgoLaser Pixi can make

The AlgoLaser Pixi is a diode laser engraver: its blue laser engraves and cuts wood, plywood, leather, paper, cardboard, fabric and dark or opaque acrylic, and marks coated or painted metal. It cannot cut clear or blue acrylic, which lets blue light through, and bare metal needs far more power or a different laser.

It has a rated laser power of 10 W, a work area of 100 × 100 mm (3.9 × 3.9 in) and a top engraving speed of 100 mm/s.

Diode laser power is stated in different ways across brands: some quote the laser's optical output, others the power the module draws, which is several times higher. Compare models on their optical output.

The brand states that it cuts up to 13 mm of wood or plywood; thicker material takes several passes, and results depend on the material and air assist.

It works with support for a rotary attachment to engrave tumblers and other round objects and LightBurn and LaserGRBL software.

AlgoLaser Pixi safety and compliance

The AlgoLaser Pixi has a fully enclosed design.

Every laser engraver makes smoke and fumes: run it with an exhaust to the outdoors or a fume purifier. Never cut PVC or vinyl, which release corrosive chlorine gas.

The brand states FDA compliance: laser products sold in the United States must meet the FDA's laser performance standard (21 CFR 1040.10) and be reported to the FDA, which issues an accession number.
