What the ACMER P3 can make

The ACMER P3 is a diode laser engraver: its blue laser engraves and cuts wood, plywood, leather, paper, cardboard, fabric and dark or opaque acrylic, and marks coated or painted metal. It cannot cut clear or blue acrylic, which lets blue light through, and bare metal needs far more power or a different laser.

It has a rated laser power of 48 W and a top engraving speed of 800 mm/s.

Diode laser power is stated in different ways across brands: some quote the laser's optical output, others the power the module draws, which is several times higher. Compare models on their optical output.

It works with a camera for positioning designs on the material, support for a rotary attachment to engrave tumblers and other round objects and LightBurn software.

In the United States the ACMER P3 sells for $765, above the median of $399 across 86 diode laser engravers with a US price, among the premium models.

ACMER P3 safety and compliance

The ACMER P3 has a fully enclosed design.

Every laser engraver makes smoke and fumes: run it with an exhaust to the outdoors or a fume purifier. Never cut PVC or vinyl, which release corrosive chlorine gas.

The brand states FDA compliance: laser products sold in the United States must meet the FDA's laser performance standard (21 CFR 1040.10) and be reported to the FDA, which issues an accession number.
